Meet Pete Gonzales.
Pete is a District 3A parent, neighbor, and attorney who believes public service starts with listening and ends with getting the work done.
HE KNOWS HOW TO NAVIGATE HARD SYSTEMS
As an attorney, Pete has seen what happens when rules are confusing, decisions are made behind closed doors, or people do not have an advocate. Through pro bono work, he has helped veterans, immigrants, and survivors of domestic violence find a path forward.
That work shaped how Pete leads: read the details, ask direct questions, explain the answer clearly, and stay with the problem until it is solved.
HE IS ROOTED IN THIS COMMUNITY
Pete is raising his family in District 3A. He knows school decisions reach beyond a classroom. They affect a family’s schedule, a teacher’s ability to do the job, a neighborhood’s stability, and a child’s sense of what is possible.
Pete has also served as a volunteer board member with Midtown-Metro, supporting work that helps Chicago students build skills, confidence, and opportunity.
WHY HE IS RUNNING
District 3A needs a representative who will make decisions in public, answer to the people who live here, and keep the focus on students and educators. Pete is running to be that independent voice.
He will bring three habits to the board: listen to the people closest to the problem, follow the money, and turn good intentions into clear action.
